Discover the number of heating degree days at your current, or any other, location in the United Kingdom. Heating degree days are a measure of how much (in degrees Kelvin), and for how long (in days), the outside air temperature was below a certain level (the base temperature*). They are commonly used in calculations relating to the energy consumption required to heat buildings.
UK Heating Degree Days contains an artificial neural network (trained with twenty years of data collected from a nationwide network of weather stations) which can estimate degree days for any UK location.
How to use this app
When launched, UK Heating Degree Days displays heating degree day data for your current location.
Use the ‘Location Search’ feature to obtain heating degree day data for other locations in the UK.

NB. UK Heating Degree Days only knows about locations within the United Kingdom.
* This app uses the default UK buildings base temperature of 15.5°C for all degree day calculations.
